Meet Verita BSN, RN, IBCLC
Hello! My name is Verita. I would like to welcome you to Beyond 9, Columbus Ohio’s Premiere Postpartum Nursing Care Service providing high-quality postpartum care and support for mothers and babies.
After receiving my BSN from Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2011, I took a position with Columbus Public Health as a Newborn Home Visiting Nurse providing community-based outreach and care coordination services to high-risk, low-income women. In 2015, I joined Interim Heath Care providing OSU employees enrolled in the OSU Buckeye Baby Program a postpartum home visit and lactation/breastfeeding support. My role was to conduct a clinical assessment of mom and baby and address other areas of concern such as, breastfeeding, wound care after a C-section, uncontrolled hypertension in moms, “baby blues”, postpartum depression, infant feeding/weight check and provide emotional support.
Over the years I have recognized that two of the most expressed concerns for new mothers are lack of sleep and fatigue. As moms begin adapting to the demands of motherhood, sleep is constantly interrupted by nighttime feeding, diapering, and repeated awakenings of the newborn. Unfortunately, overnight infant care is not a service offered with a traditional home visit. So, I created Beyond 9 to include overnight care providing moms with this additional service to meet all their postpartum needs.
Beyond 9 is determined to reach out and support as many mothers as possible during and beyond the postpartum period. Our goal is to make your postpartum recovery time as comfortable and pleasant as possible, so that you may have a better experience bonding with your baby. Beyond 9 is here to give you the care and support you need, in the comfort of your own home.

Testimonials
I met Verita three and a half years ago when my daughter was born. She was delivered via c-section as she was breach and I delivered at OSU as my husband worked at OSU. We were given a complimentary nurse check up once we got home to check on both my daughter and myself, little did we know years later we are still friends. Verita came to our house and checked my stitches and my daughter. She noticed I was struggling with breastfeeding and latching and she stayed and helped me latch my daughter better and showed me all the positions to feed her. She came back two more times on her own to check on us (mostly me). I learned so many tips and tricks about breastfeeding, positioning, and rules of breastmilk. Being a first time tired Mommy she could see I NEEDED her. She continued to check in on me via text and calls and offered to come back multiple times. When our son was born 3 years later, I texted Verita and she came back to the house when we came home to check on him and myself again! On her own time as my husband no longer worked for OSU anymore. I cried to her that he would not latch on one side and she suggested a nipple shield and it worked! She listened to my worries and concerns, talked me through them and we worked together on a plan on how to try to keep going. She was right he took to the nipple shield and it made it so much better for both of us. A few days later she left a little gift on my door with such a kind note it brought me to tears! Every Momma needs someone like her to help with the journey of motherhood. We are so blessed she is a nurse, lactation consultant and an amazing trustworthy kind person. I truly don't think I could have lasted breastfeeding 11.5 months with my daughter and going on 2 months with my son without her. No matter what questions I have, she is always there to answer and provide her expertise and that is very calming for a tired Mommy of two.Thank you Verita for all you have done for me and my family! You are such a blessing.
